Designed to address gaps in core living and educational resources, the Basic Needs Grant supports students experiencing food insecurity, housing instability, transportation barriers, or lack of access to essential needs. Funding follows similar guidelines as Emergency Grants, with additional emphasis on chronic or long-term needs.
Eligibility Criteria
- To determine eligibility, students need to have completed the ECRT Self–Assessment form and meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled and registered student at UCLA or registered in a prior term
- Indicate a gap within Cost of Attendance in support or financial/basic needs resources.
- Demonstrate financial need based on Student Aid Index (SAI) per FAFSA, CA Dream Act, or ECRT Self-Assessment.
- Show satisfactory academic progress.
- Must have maximized other aid and support options.
